If you’re a stay at home mom or a homemaker, you must be cleaning your house on a daily basis and it can be a little be problematic at times, right? Endless piles of laundry, vacuuming, and moping – all this takes a lot of your time and energy.

What about some more serious cleaning like deep cleaning or cleaning your oven? Whatever it is that you should clean, you should always opt for natural products instead of dangerous chemicals available everywhere. If you’ve been wondering about how to clean your oven without chemicals, we’re here to give you a few simple tips.

How to Clean Your Oven in Several Ways

There are a few great ways to clean your oven without having to use chemical products. If you have baking soda, vinegar, salt, and lemon at home, that’s all you need to make a great homemade cleaner and clean the oven naturally. Let’s see how this works:

Cleaning With Baking Soda and Vinegar

Before you start cleaning your oven, make sure to take everything out and leave it empty. Then you need to make a paste mix – around 6 ounces of baking soda with around 3 tbsp of water. This should form a paste you can then use to spread all around the inside of the oven.

You should use some gloves for this and make sure to spread the paste evenly around. Coat everything with the paste except for the heating elements and leave it overnight. If that’s too long for you, you can leave it for 40 minutes but you’ll have to repeat the process very soon again.

The paste may turn brown and lumpy in some places, but that’s normal and it means it’s working! You can now wipe the oven with a wet cloth and try to remove as much of the paste as possible. Prepare to scrub or use a spatula to remove some hard parts of it.

Finally, use a spray bottle to spray white vinegar inside the oven. The paste will make a foam and you can then remove all the remaining parts of it. When the oven is dry and shiny, you can put everything back inside.

Cleaning With Lemon

If you’re looking for a homemade oven cleaner without baking sodawe’ve got just the thing for you. All you will need is two lemons and some water.

Squeeze the lemons into a baking dish and pour some water in it. If you don’t have lemons at hand, any other citrus fruit will do the trick. Put the dish in the oven and turn it on to around 250 degrees. You can leave it like this for half an hour, or longer if you think it’s necessary.

After 30 minutes, you should remove the baking dish and use a sponge or a spatula to clean the oven from the inside. Lemon has natural degreasing powers, so all the grease and dirt should be easy to remove by now.

Use the rest of the lemon water to rinse off the oven and dry it well with a cloth before using it again.

Cleaning With Salt and Vinegar

For this method, you will need a warm oven so perhaps it’s best you do it after baking something. The temperature should be around 150 degrees. Use a generous amount of table salt and spread it over the floor of your oven, making a nice layer of salt on it.

While the oven is still heated, scrub it with a rag or a sponge. Continue scrubbing until all the grease and dirt come off. Use a spray bottle to spray some vinegar and water for the final touch. Clean it with a cloth to remove all the residue and dry it well before the next use.
